EUROPEAN POLICE TRADE UNIONS AGAINST EXECUTIVE POWERS FOR EUROPOL

FECL 08 (September 1992)

Consensus was established at the Conference of the inter-European Police Trade Union (UISP) in Dublin in March 1992, that the planned European police unit Europol should not have any executive competences. The only union representants in support of such an executive role were the Germans but they finally accepted the point of view of their foreign colleagues.
